Thursdays at the Figge
Enjoy Thursdays at the Figge each week at the museum! Enjoy a drink at the bar while watching the eagles soar over the majestic Mississippi River. Stroll through galleries filled with art and experience one of our world-class traveling exhibitions. Join us for a lecture, a class, a performance or a special activity. Meet friends or bring your family—every Thursday at the Figge will offer a different experience, and admission is free. Most Thursdays begin at 5 p.m. with a cash bar and light snacks.
7 pm Gallery Talk: “Glass in Ancient Rome: A Brief History Through Images”
Associate Professor Sinclair Bell of Northern Illinois University will provide an overview of the history of Roman glass in conjunction with the Roman Glass Works exhibition in the Lewis Gallery.
7 pm Art Talk
Artist Alex Stisser, one of the original Hot Shop artists, will discuss Kids Design Glass, as well as his involvement with the initial project at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington.
